Conjunction
0°
Two points at the same degree act as one. Their energies fuse and amplify each other, which is a strength when they cooperate and a blind spot when they do not.
Sextile
60°
A friendly angle of sixty degrees. The two energies can support each other, but the opportunity has to be taken up deliberately.
Square
90°
A ninety-degree angle that sets two energies at cross purposes. The friction is uncomfortable and productive: it demands action and builds skill.
Trine
120°
A one-hundred-and-twenty-degree angle between points in the same element. Energy moves easily, a natural gift that can be taken for granted.
Quincunx
150°
A one-hundred-and-fifty-degree angle between signs with nothing in common. The two sides cannot understand each other, so the aspect asks for constant adjustment.
Opposition
180°
Two points facing each other across the chart. They pull in opposite directions, and the task is to hold both sides in balance rather than project one onto other people.
